Description
A shorter version of the classic Tufoli, Mezzi Tufoli are part of the short, straight-cut, smooth pasta.
The geographical origin of this format is uncertain and there are numerous local names: Maniche, Gigantoni, Occhi di elefante, Elefante, Canneroni grandi, Occhi di bove.
The absence of ridges is compensated by a surprising softness, which gives the palate sublime sensations. Delicate and refined, they enhance aromas, flavors and scents to the maximum.
The recommended condiments for Mezzi Tufoli are meat ragù but also vegetable sauces based on mushrooms, artichokes and aubergines. Also excellent combined with sauces with legumes such as beans, peas, chickpeas, broad beans and lentils.
